RUSSIA Memories

View from St. Petersburg Cathedral

I've been postponing sharing with you the pictures from our last trip to Russia mostly because we took more than 2,000 and it's so hard to choose! (pros/cons about digital cameras).

We had a great time, if I have to describe Russia in a few words I'd say: opulent, huge, majestic... what an amazing country, even after having only visited a very tiny part of it: you see art everywhere (I saw the most ridiculously elegant metro stations), ballet performances in every theater, jaw-dropping church interiors and the gold, precious stones and Faberge eggs in the Kremlin museums in Moscow and the Hermitage museum in St. Petersburg.

My legs were so tired of walking non-stop in a city that made me feel like Thumbelina: everything is so immense, the buildings, the statues, the bridges... just as the huge history of this country that goes back to the 30,000BC.

We had so much fun! we took the overnight Orient Express (unforgettable experience!), we did lots of walking, museums, sight-seeing, vodka shots, soup eating, some handicrafts buying and getting lost, in a city were we felt like little children starting to learn how to read again.

But I'll better stop talking, I'd never end; let's better see the pictures where you can join me in a ride to the biggest country in the world.
